Jun 27 Bio Blitz at Liberty Park
Liberty Park-Pond Brook South
Begins Friday, June 27 at 3 p.m. Join your friends and colleagues in a race against time to inventory as many species as possible in 24 hours! Find birds and frogs in swamps and bogs. Sign up to survey the species of your choice. Please bring snacks and water. Dinner will be provided Friday and Saturday. Pack a lunch for the field on Saturday. An area for camping will be available at no charge. On Saturday at 3 p.m. there will be a cookout to celebrate our accomplishments as we tally up the list of species.

Jul 05 Bio Blitz at Audubon Wetlands
What is a Bio-blitz? It is a survey of the biological residents of an area, including birds, plants, insects, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. We will be surveying 109-acre Audubon Wetlands Preserve, a property acquired by Greater Mohican Audubon Society and deeded to Ashland County Park District.
Time: 8 am to 4 pm

• Ohio Young Birders Club- Black Swamp Bird Observatory, Kirtland Bird Club, and
GMAS
• Rick Gardner, Heritage Botanist with ODNR Division of Natural Areas and Preserves
• Guy Denny, Retired Chief ODNR, DNAP and naturalist

What to bring: lunch, water, appropriate attire for a wetland (tall boots, long sleeves, long pants, hat, mosquito repellant optional).

Take Interstate 71 to U.S. 250. Turn west, toward Ashland. Denny's will be about VA mile on the right (north side of 250).

Saturday 8/16/08 9:00 AM Get an overview of prairie ecosystems at Ohio Prairie Nursery, tour the prairie in bloom and see how you can create your own prairie. Afterwards visit the 400 acre James A. Barrow Field Station at Hiram Collage for a special tour with Professor of Biology and Field Station Dir.Matt Hils featuring old fields,wetlands and flood plains along Silver Creek and mature Beech Maple forest.
